This sketch is over at CAS(E) This Sketch, #147
Now, about the card, I cut a Bazzill marshmallow 13 x 16.5 cm (5" x 6.5") card base - love the weight of this card for a base - pulled out an Annabelle Stamps set of whimsical flower stamps called Flowers With Love.and stamped some in the left lower corner with Versafine Onyx Black. I masked off two flowers before stamping the third so I could group them fairly closely.
I then stamped a couple of images on the scrap of cardstock cut from the base to make the broad banner for the right top of the sketch. I considered for a while just stamping the images directly onto the card base as I am on a bit of a roll with single layer cards at present, but decided a tiny bit of dimension would enhance the design.
Keeping to the whimsical light look I stamped a PTI "Thinking of You" sentiment with Versamark ink onto a strip of heavy vellum and heat embossed it in gold.
I then coloured all the flowers and leaves with my Derwent ColourSoft pencils, adding tiny gold dots with my Uniball Signo Broad gold pen which I find just brilliant for adding tiny gold accents to an image.
I followed the lead of Theresa from Lostinpaper who quite often cuts an image outline to highlight the shape. Fussy cutting is not at all my thing, but I love the effect, and I think it really helped keep this card light and cheerful.
I added a myriad of tiny scotch tape particles to the back of the banner panel as I did not want it to sag during postal transit and also to strengthen some of the smaller connective points where I had fussy cut the tiny leaves.
I adhered it to the top right of the card, fastening down the vellum sentiment banner underneath with a drop of Glossy Accents to make sure it stayed put.
Here is the photographs...
I have a lemon delicious pudding to organise, salad and sauce for a lasagna (Sarah is bringing the rest), so I had better stop waffling around in the craft room and start looking as if I'm in control...tonight might be a good time to turn on the Christmas planning light also, as Sarah is the Christmas Queen.
Bye now,
Di
