I set to this afternoon to make a box to contain them, but decided, as it was quite a pile and the box would have been about 6 cm deep, to buy one of the kraft coloured 6"x4" boxes from Shiploads next time I visit...it will be much sturdier, and at $2.00, cheaper than using a couple of sheets of my sturdy 12x12 cardstock...
I am thinking that I might do a couple more batches of these cards. I know a certain someone who is a very keen card maker but has only very few of the tools that make our crafty lives so much easier.
She crafts with a group of friends and they have decided to branch out this year and collectively purchase a die-cutting machine and other tools. I think if I donate a few of these little card sets they will be able to sell them and add the proceeds towards their other fundraising efforts.
I have also dug out a couple of paper trimmers that I purchased some time ago but that didn't live up to their expensive price tag, in my opinion. I hate that the cuts are not exactly straight and have to spend time re-cutting. They may be able to utilise them for some projects, or simply may not be as pernickety as I am...
I had put them aside for "emergency" use, but as I have not used them for ages, I have added them to the donation box...it has given me a good incentive to de-clutter several areas of my craft room. I have stamps I will never use, and small things like glitter glues, enamel dots and washi tape that are simply languishing...they may as well go to where they will be used and appreciated. They will have fun playing, if nothing else!.
Here are some of these fun little cards. I used the envelope paper as a mat, on almost all. It is amazing how quickly this pile of cards came together, all the same measurements, basically all the same type of embellishment, tapes, glues et al...took no time at all and my scrap bins are well depleted!
Tim and Chris picked up the sewing machines this morning, from their annual visit to the machine service centre...no excuse now not to get on with a couple of projects.
